The district and politics

District bylaws

One of our most important tasks is the creation of bylaws governing the activities of the district at both the administrative and operational levels. Moderator David Buffum has spent several months researching, writing and editing bylaws, and we recently adopted bylaws governing the duties of officers, procedures for contract awards and purchasing.

Another area of interest is bylaws concerning conservation measures to be taken during periods of drought. This subject has generated a great deal of lively discussion at district meetings and the work will continue as we attempt to compose bylaws that conserve our precious water while taking into account the needs of the community.
